Title: Auto-Interpretation of Cameras for Odometry
Abstract:
The best way to interpret a camera’s data is not always known, this becomes increasingly difficult when trying to deploy newly developed cameras which may not have been previously deployed on robotic platforms. In this work we seek to use cameras without the need to calibrate or have any knowledge of the specific camera that is being used. By modelling the fundamental light operation of camera, our framework is to use rays as the common ground between different cameras. This work is demonstrated in the domain of odometry.
Bio: Ryan Griffiths is a second year PhD student at the ACFR. He completed his undergraduate degree in Mechatronics at the University of Sydney in 2020, then joined the ACFR to complete a PhD. Ryans areas of interest includes novel cameras and how we can use machine learning to be able to deploy them in robotic applications.
