Title: Safety validation of Highly Automated Vehicle

Abstract:
The validation of Highly Automated Vehicles (HAV) is an essential step before deploying them on public roads. However, many traditional validation approaches such as text matrix and Naturalistic Field Operation Test in the automobile industry are inadequate for assessing complex systems efficiently. ISO21662 and ISO21448 standards are essential to provide best practices for developing safety systems, but they are not comprehensive enough to cover the safety of Highly Automated Vehicles. These standards assume the ultimate guarantee of safety is the responsibility of the human driver. In this talk, I will explain the current research direction in this area, my contribution, and future work.
