Title: Abyss Solutions: Scaling products from concepts to commercialisation

Abstract: At Abyss, our mission is to create innovative AI and robotics solutions, removing the need to put people at risk in dangerous jobs. We provide a range of industries products and services that enable inspections at scale to a range of industries. With our academic origins from ACFR, we have grown from a team of 4 founders from the incubator stage to now having over 90 employees globally. Through the process we have launched a number of successful products, from concept design to commercial rollout, that are currently being used around the world to enable inspections at scale. This talk presents the journey of a couple of these product lines teams behind the scenes that take them from concept to commercialisation.

Bio: Suchet Bargoti has a background in field robotics, with a particular interest in enabling machines to perceive the world around and make autonomous data-driven decisions. His research has impacted many applications, such as agricultural robotics, urban automation, underwater mapping and space exploration. As the CTO at Abyss Solutions, he leads the technical vision for autonomous systems that enable inspections at scale.
